domain for The Air Transport Industry
.Aero was developed and approved by ICANN specifically for
the air transport industry.
Every air transport organization will be able to use the new
.aero TLD. This distinctive domain extension will allow companies
of the air transport industry to distinguish and brand their
businesses in a new manner and no longer restrict them to
.com domain extensions.
The .aero domain is a sponsored Top Level Domain ("TLD") established
by and for the use of the members of the aviation community.
SITA has been representing the aviation community for more
than fifty years and as the Sponsor of .aero, will manage
this new domain on a not-for-profit basis. With the advice
of industry representative bodies SITA will develop, maintain
and enforce the .aero domain management policy.
Domain names will exclusively be available to companies,
organizations, associations, government agencies and individuals
who participate in the efficient, safe and secure transport
of people and cargo by air .

Registration procedure yet to be made public by Societe Internationale
de Telecommunications Aeronautique. Because SITA will monitor
each request,it is expected to manage and arbitrate all trademark
disputes.
